Oaklands reunite couple to celebrate their 39th wedding anniversary

Tony joined us at Oaklands earlier this year for respite care, bringing along with him his adorable Budgie, Bobby. Despite having only been here a couple of months, Tony and Bobby have already left quite the impression on the residents and staff and we’ll be sad to say goodbye when he returns to his newly-renovated home next month.

Tony’s wife of 39 years – Diana – also recently joined us at Oaklands, while awaiting the completion of their final home renovations, before they return home together. Diana and Tony had rarely spent a day apart before Tony’s admission to Oaklands, so was delighted to be recently reunited with her husband.

After hearing from a relative that their wedding anniversary was shortly coming up, we were eager to mark the occasion and put something together for the couple to celebrate their special day.

Kindly put together by our resident chef, Tony and Diana enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea in our private reading room to celebrate, while reminiscing on their 39 years of marriage.

Both were delighted with the arrangement put together by our staff and we couldn’t have been happier to see them reunited. We wish them many more happy years together in their home and we’ll be sad to see the couple go.

Tony and Diana’s story is just one example of the dedicated care and support our team at Oaklands provides for residents every day. If you would like to learn more about care provided at Oaklands, please give us a call on 02380845759.
