Residents take a trip to Texas on Oaklands Air

Posted on 30 September 2021

Residents packed their cowboy boots and took a trip on ‘Oaklands Air’ recently to sunny Texas!

Oaklands Air is unique airline that allows our residents to experience international travel from the comfort of their armchairs.

After enjoying their in-flight entertainment, our residents landed in the Lone Star State, where they were greeted with a special barn dance and a bar serving delicious Texan food. Yummy!

To help make this day really special for our residents, Popell Barns Mobile Farm joined us too. The residents adored cuddling the lovely animals, before getting back on board Oaklands Air for their trip back home.

Commenting on their trip, Amy, a resident at Oaklands, said; “It was an amazing day and the animals made such a difference, especially to the residents who are less able to take part due to the progress of their dementia.”

We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped organise this fantastic day – Grazia, Jackie, Rebecca, Donna, Paige, Kim, Louise, Jo, Nicola, Tony, Dave & Mandy.
