Proud to announce our latest Care Quality Commission ratingPosted on 3 April 2023
The results from our Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection in February are in – and we couldn’t be prouder of our staff and the care that we provide for our residents at Oaklands!
Rated ‘Good’ in all categories
We are pleased to announce that the independent health regulator of health and social care services in England, CQC, has officially rated us as Good overall and across all five categories! Finding us to be fully compliant with regulations and Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-led.
The inspection was unannounced, so is a true reflection of the day-to-day quality and safety of care we provide at Oaklands.
We thought it would be nice to share some key findings from the report with you:
“There was a friendly atmosphere in the home and staff supported people in a kind and caring way that took account of their individual needs and preferences.
“The service worked well with other agencies to promote people’s wellbeing.
“People were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives and staff supported them in the least restrictive way possible and in their best interests; the policies and systems in the service supported this practice.
“Staff were supported to gain relevant knowledge and skills through an on-going programme of training, supervision and appraisal.
“The provider and registered manager were promoting an open, empowering and inclusive culture within the service. There were a range of systems in place to assess and monitor the quality and safety of the service and to ensure people were receiving appropriate support.”
We’d also like to say a special thank you to our Oaklands’ families for your ongoing support and helping us to achieve such fantastic results. Well done everyone, what an achievement!
