Oaklands Takes Centre Stage at the Care Show With Ally CarePosted on 23 November 2023
Our fantastic Accounts and Admin Support, Robin, took to the stage at this year’s Care Show at the NEC in Birmingham.
Robin joined Thomas Tredinnick the CEO of Ally Cares to talk about how Ally helps us deliver outstanding care at Oaklands.
We are so proud of Robin and the excellent way she represents Oaklands. In case you didn’t already know, Robin works with Hampshire Care Association and also recently featured in a special podcast on ‘Best Practice in Supporting People with Dementia’.
As Robin covers in the interview, the Ally technology “has really helped us get ahead of the game. It alerts night staff if there is an unusual or unexpected noise that might indicate that a resident is getting restless. It also alerts us if someone was getting out of bed, but it often alerts us before a resident gets to that stage. That means care staff can go to the resident at that point, rather than needing to go and check every hour, which is what we used to routinely do.”
Ally has really benefited our residents to get a more restful night’s sleep and offers full peace of mind to our resident’s families, as well as helping to alleviate the pressure on the staff and management team.
Robin tells of a great example of how Ally has helped us to act quickly and prevent the spread of Covid at our care home.
“We had a resident that had Covid, the first indicator of that was that Ally picked up that she was coughing a lot in the night, she still had Covid, but as we were aware of it earlier, we had more control of the situation. We were able to deal with it quickly and stop Covid spreading throughout Oaklands.”
