Oaklands Rest Home Celebrates Double Finalist Success at the Caring UK Awards 2025
Posted on 24 September 2025We’re proud to share that Oaklands Rest Home has been named a finalist in not one, but two categories at the Caring UK Awards 2025: Catering Team of the Year and Excellence and Innovation in Dementia Care.
Now in their eighth year, the Caring UK Awards celebrate excellence and achievement across the care sector nationwide. Being shortlisted in both categories is a wonderful recognition of the dedication, compassion, and innovation our teams bring to Oaklands every single day.
Our Kitchen Team has been recognised for their outstanding, person-centred approach to food. From homemade meals and diabetic-friendly cakes to fortified plans that support health goals, the team ensures every resident feels included and cared for. Whether it’s patterned crockery that protects dignity, personalised birthday cakes, or themed menus for special events, their “nothing is too much trouble” attitude makes mealtimes a source of comfort and joy.
Alongside this, Oaklands is also leading the way in dementia care. We were one of the first homes in the UK to adopt AI-powered PainChek technology, giving residents a voice when they may struggle to communicate pain. Our Ally Acoustic night monitoring system helps prevent falls and even identified a Covid outbreak before it spread, while digital care plans, eMAR medication management, and shared NHS records strengthen safety and independence. Most recently, we introduced an AI-driven Audit Tool to enhance compliance and prepare for family and resident feedback integration in 2025.
Together, these recognitions highlight what makes Oaklands special: our commitment to combining compassion with innovation, ensuring residents not only live safely, but also with dignity, connection, and joy.
We couldn’t be prouder of our teams for achieving this double finalist success—and we look forward to the awards ceremony later this year.
Congratulations to everyone at Oaklands—you make our home truly exceptional.
