Oaklands’ Finalists in the Great British Care Awards

What an incredible month – we have two more finalists to celebrate! Massive congratulations to Dave Ray, our Head of Maintenance, and Tony Joseph, our Maintenance Assistant, who have been named joint finalists in the Great British Care Awards in the Ancillary Worker category.

Dave and Tony work exceptionally hard as a team and always put our residents first, making sure Oaklands remains the best it can be. From personalising residents’ rooms to make them feel at home, to fulfilling residents’ wishes by creating our fabulous new salon and transforming the area outside into a café, so our residents could have a special space to relax, enjoy being pampered, and leave feeling their best.

We really appreciate their hard work and are thrilled that future generations will benefit from the incredible new salon and café.

On hearing the news, Dave said: “Tony and I are truly honoured and appreciated to be nominated. We cannot thank our managers and directors for their kind words and support. It means a lot to us that you thought of us for this award. Thank you for your confidence in us. We are humbled and grateful to be nominated”. 

Nicola, our Registered Manager, added: “We would like to say a massive thank you to Dave and Tony for all your hard work. Ancillary Worker is a very competitive category, and you are both incredibly deserving of this award. We really appreciate the high standards you maintain. Our home couldn’t run smoothly without you!”
