Nicola – Registered Manager

Nicola is our dedicated and established Registered Manager at Oaklands. Joining us in 2014 after moving from Wales with her family, Nicola has become a familiar face in the local community thanks to her ongoing efforts to ensure a strong relationship between the home and the local residents.

An extensive background in care, Nicola has been working in the sector since 1986, starting at just seventeen years old. Nicola became a qualified Psychiatric Nurse who fell in love with Elderly Care when on placement during training.

She first became a Registered Manager in 2004, achieving a BSc degree in Welfare Studies from Newport University while working as a Manager at a care home in Wales.

Outside of Oaklands, Nicola loves to recharge by reading books and spending time in nature. She has a talent for making Welsh Cakes – winning our 2026 Oaklands Welsh Cake Bake Off – and her new love is her granddaughter, who stole her heart.
