Mia Wins at the National Care Awards 2026

We are incredibly proud to share that our Deputy Manager, Mia, attended the Great British Care Awards National Final 2026, which took place on the 27th February at the ICC in Birmingham, after winning the Care Planning and Assessor Award at the regional awards.

At the national final, Mia received the Highly Commended award, which in itself is a fantastic achievement and a wonderful moment for everyone at Oaklands. Anyone who works with Mia knows just how dedicated she is to the residents in our care and to making sure every individual receives the support they need.

Care planning is at the heart of providing truly person-centred care and Mia takes great care to ensure that every resident’s plan reflects not only their medical needs but also their routines, preferences and the things that matter most to them.

She works closely with residents, families and healthcare professionals to make sure care is consistent and that loved ones feel informed and reassured. Her thoughtful approach and attention to detail make a real difference to daily life at Oaklands.

Mia’s kindness, professionalism and commitment to getting things right for every resident are qualities that both colleagues and families value greatly.

Receiving Highly Commended at a national level is a well-deserved recognition of the care and dedication Mia brings to Oaklands every day.
