A Thoughtful Gesture: Wedding Flowers Find a New Home

We were recently touched by a wonderful act of kindness from a local couple, Polly and Ian, who were married on 11th October 2025. After their big day, they wanted to make sure their beautiful wedding flowers didn’t go to waste — so they kindly donated them to Oaklands.

The flowers arrived on 13th October, filling our lounges and dining areas with colour and joy. Residents had a lovely time arranging the bouquets, carefully placing each one into vases and chatting together as they created beautiful displays around the home. The activity sparked lots of conversation about weddings, favourite flowers, and special memories.

Their generous gesture brought smiles to everyone’s faces and created a lovely atmosphere for residents and staff alike.

Polly and Ian live locally and simply wanted their flowers to be appreciated once more, rather than discarded after their celebration. It was a truly thoughtful idea and one that brightened everyone’s week.
